Western Fells 400km Snowmobile Expedition from Levi

Spend four days riding approximately 400 km through western Finnish Lapland by snowmobile, with your own guide and overnight stays in Hetta, Jerisjärvi and Ylläs. Starting and finishing in Levi, you’ll ride through snow-covered forests, across frozen lakes and between the fells, discovering a different part of Lapland each day.

You’ll drive your own Lynx Xterrain Core 600 ACE, with a cargo box for your overnight essentials. Stop for lunch along the way, then settle into a comfortable room with a private bathroom each evening. Breakfasts and dinners are included, and your main luggage can stay with us in Levi.

Previous snowmobile experience is recommended, and you should be comfortable spending several hours riding on consecutive days.

Indicative price: €4250 per person
Every expedition is privately arranged. The final price depends on travel dates, accommodation availability and any additional services, and is confirmed in your personal proposal.

Levi - Hetta, approx. 150 km

Your first night is in Hetta, a small, remote village on Lake Ounasjärvi. The Ounastunturi fells rise across the lake, with the forests and open fell country of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park beyond.

Hetta - Jerisjärvi, approx. 105 km

The second stop brings you to Lake Jerisjärvi, beside Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. Your stay includes tickets to Arctic Sauna World on the lakeshore. Warm up in the different saunas, enjoy the lake views and, if you feel like it, take a dip in the ice hole.

Jerisjärvi - Ylläs, approx. 65 km

Your final night is in Ylläs, known for its seven rounded fells and two villages, Äkäslompolo and Ylläsjärvi. The villages sit on opposite sides of Ylläs fell, surrounded by forests, with open slopes rising above the treeline.

Ylläs - Levi, approx. 80 km

The final day takes you back to Levi through forests and across frozen lakes. Stop for lunch along the way before returning to collect your main luggage, completing the four-day circuit.

Make the trip your own with optional upgrades

Stay longer, choose a private villa or add a husky safari along the way. Enjoy dinner with a local shaman near Jerisjärvi or explore the snow and ice exhibition at Lainio SnowVillage. For more riding on the final day, extend your journey to the old fire lookout tower on Kumputunturi. A separate luggage vehicle can bring larger bags between overnight stops.

These upgrades are available at an additional cost and are not included in the base proposal. Every expedition is private and individually quoted. Dates, accommodation, activities and additional services are subject to availability, while the Kumputunturi visit also depends on weather and trail conditions. All arrangements and selected upgrades are confirmed in your personal proposal.
