More than a husky ride
The sled ride may be the moment everyone talks about afterwards, but it is only one part of the visit. At Levi Husky Park, you have time to meet the dogs, discover the other animals that live here and hear stories from a place shaped by decades of working with sled dogs.
Guests can watch the team prepare to run, enjoy the ride without having to steer. Afterwards, everyone can warm up together by the fire.

From Levi to Husky Park
Travel from Levi with your guide. The park is around 12 km from Levi centre, so you can enjoy the visit without arranging a car or taxi.
Meet the animals
Explore the park with a guide and meet its Siberian huskies and other Arctic animals. You may also have a chance to meet the park’s kissing reindeer. The animals present and opportunities to interact with them depend on the day and the guide’s instructions.
Take your place in the sled
Sit back while an experienced musher takes control of the husky team. The 2 km ride leads through winter forest and frozen lake scenery. The ride itself takes approximately 10 minutes, depending on conditions.
Warm up and hear the stories
Return to the hut for a hot drink, cookies and a warm sausage. Discover more about life with sled dogs and the history of the park before heading back to Levi.
The story behind Levi Husky Park
Founded in 1990, Levi Husky Park is more than a stop for a sled ride. Its founder, Reijo Jääskeläinen, has spent over 50 years breeding, training and racing Siberian huskies.
Dogs from his Polar Speed kennel have competed in Finland and abroad.
The park also has an unexpected connection to the screen: Siberian husky puppies and an Arctic fox from Levi Husky Park appeared in the 2011 film Hanna.
On your visit, you’ll discover the working dogs, meet some of the park’s other animals and hear how this unusual place grew from Reijo’s lifelong work with huskies.
An easy first husky experience for children and adults
There is no technique to drive the sled yourself. Your family rides as passengers while the musher handles the dogs. The route is short enough to make this a comfortable introduction to husky sledding, while the guided park visit gives children much more to discover before and after the ride.
A sled can usually accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, depending on the children’s size and the total weight. Your family can ride together when the sled capacity allows.
