Self-drive husky safari from frozen river to open wilderness swamp
On arrival, the guide gives a full briefing and walks the group to the starting point, where the dog teams are already harnessed and excited to go. Before the safari begins, the guide introduces each dog by name.
The route starts with a short river section, then opens onto a frozen swamp: flat, wide and unobstructed. The treeline falls away and the fell horizon appears in the distance. Compared with the 5 km river trail, this route gives more varied landscapes and considerably more distance. The river section leads into open swamp, the forest edge disappears, and the fell comes into view on the horizon. Riding time is approximately 30-40 minutes. A stop halfway allows the driver and passenger to swap places. Ski goggles are strongly recommended, as the open swamp brings more wind and ice particles than a sheltered forest trail.
At the kennel: free-run area, kota hut and hot drinks
After the ride, guests walk through the kennel and spend time in the free-run area with the dogs before warming up in the kota hut with hot berry juice and cookies. The host talks about life with the dogs and answers questions.
Remove gloves and mittens before touching the dogs, as they will play with them. Do not feed the dogs.
Child price applies for ages 2–7. Not recommended for children under 7.
