Private Wilderness Snowshoeing with a Campfire Stop in a Private Hut, Levi

2 hours and 30 minutes

Moderate

A snowshoe hike through private Lapland wilderness ending at a private hut with a campfire — exclusively reserved for your group, just ten minutes from Levi centre.

Wilderness Snowshoeing in Levi. Private Hut, Campfire, Fell Viewpoint, No Other Groups

Why this snowshoe tour stands out

  • Private lean-to or forest hut reserved exclusively for the group. No other visitors at any point
  • Just a 10-minute transfer from Levi, genuinely wild landscape without a long journey
  • Short climb to a fell viewpoint with open views across Lapland’s winter wilderness
  • Guide’s knowledge of the forest: what lives here, how the landscape changes through the seasons
  • Grilled sausage and hot berry juice by an open fire at the hut

A 10-minute transfer from Levi brings you to the trailhead, where the snowshoes go on and the forest begins. The route covers 2–4 km through quiet woodland, including a short climb to a viewpoint where Lapland’s white winter landscape opens up. On a clear day, the fell panorama makes the uphill section worthwhile. On a cloudy day, the forest itself is enough.

Private wilderness hut and campfire stop

The route loops back close to the starting point and finishes at a private lean-to or forest hut reserved exclusively for your group. There are no other visitors in the area. The guide lights the fire. Sausages are grilled on long sticks over the open flame. Hot berry juice is served. There is time to warm up properly and let the forest settle around you. The guide shares what happens here through the year: which animals use this land, how the light changes from polar night into spring, and what it means to live close to this landscape rather than simply pass through it.

The transfer back to Levi is a short walk from the hut.

The terrain includes a short uphill section and is uneven throughout. Not recommended for guests with knee problems, heart conditions or mobility limitations.

        F.A.Q.

        • Is the hut reserved exclusively for our group?

Yes. The private lean-to or forest hut is reserved solely for the group on this tour. No other visitors are in the area during the stopover.

        • What is the difference between the Easy Snowshoeing and Wilderness Snowshoeing with a Campfire Stop in a Private Hut tour?

The Easy tour starts and ends in Levi village with no transfer and is on mostly easy terrain. The Wilderness tour involves a 10-minute transfer, a short uphill climb to a viewpoint, and ends at a private hut with a campfire stop. Both are 2–2.5 hours and suitable from age 12.

        • Is the fell viewpoint always accessible?

The route to the viewpoint is weather dependent. On overcast or stormy days the guide may adjust the route. The hut stop at the end of the route is always included regardless of conditions.

        • What is the light like in December on this tour?

In December, daylight in Levi lasts roughly from 10:00 to 14:00. Tours in this window run in natural light. Later departures experience kaamos — the soft polar blue light of November and December — arriving at the hut as the light fades. The campfire glow in kaamos is a memorable contrast.
