Why choose this evening snowshoe tour in Levi

- Position above village lights, among the better spots near Levi for northern lights viewing
- Even without aurora: moonlit snow, stars, the silence of the dark forest

Snowshoe Fitting & Flexible Starting Point
Your guide will meet you in Levi and help you prepare with snowshoes, adjusted to your size and worn over your own sturdy winter boots. From there, we’ll continue to the chosen trailhead, either by a short transfer or directly from your accommodation.
The most popular route starts with a 5-minute drive to the summit of Levi Fell, where open views make it one of the better aurora-watching locations in the area. For a quieter or more sheltered hike, we can also explore a smaller fell in the surroundings of Levi, still scenic, with fewer visitors and a more intimate atmosphere.
Guided Snowshoeing Under the Arctic Sky
Depending on the selected route, we’ll cover about 2–4 km, either descending gently toward the village or following a scenic loop in nature. Some sections may be steeper, and your guide will adjust the pace according to your fitness and comfort level.
If the sky is clear, you may see stars, moonlight and, with some luck, the Northern Lights above you. Aurora sightings are never guaranteed, but being outside on a high, open route gives you a better position for watching the northern sky.
Even on snowy or overcast nights, the experience has its own magic: quiet forest, fresh snow and the soft glow of your headlamp creating a calm, immersive Arctic atmosphere.
Hot Drink in the Wilderness
At a quiet moment during the hike, we’ll pause outdoors for a cup of steaming Finnish berry juice. While you enjoy your drink, your guide will share stories about Arctic wildlife, northern traditions and the seasonal rhythm of life in Lapland.
