Husky Park Visit & 3 km Husky Safari with Musher, Levi

2 hours

Easy

Enjoy a thrilling shot husky ride and visit other animals at husky park

Available: 15.1.–30.3.

Discover a historic husky kennel in Lapland, operated by renowned Finnish musher Reijo Jääskeläinen. Located near Levi, this unique kennel is home to Siberian huskies and other Arctic animals – some of whom are trained movie stars. During the transfer, your guide will share engaging insights about huskies and northern wildlife.

At the park, you’ll encounter Siberian huskies of various ages, arctic foxes, red foxes, tundra wolves, dog-wolf hybrids, spitzes, and puppies (when available). The host will introduce you to the animals, demonstrate some of their trained skills, and share behind-the-scenes stories from film productions.

You’ll also enjoy an unforgettable 3 km husky sled ride through snowy forests and across frozen lake landscapes. Sitting comfortably in a sled (for up to 2 adults and 1 child), you’ll be pulled by a team of huskies while the musher stands behind on the runners. Feel the natural rhythm of the dogs as they pull the sled at their own pace – a true Arctic adventure.

Afterward, you’ll have a chance to meet and photograph Taika, the affectionate reindeer, before heading into a traditional Lappish hut. There, you can enjoy a hot drink and warm sausage by the open fire, browse souvenirs, watch a short film about husky life, and explore the owner’s Hall of Fame.

There may be other visitors at the kennel during your visit.

        What to bring

We strongly recommend wearing warm winter clothing. It can be rented separately before departure from the STG / Safarimarket office in Levi center at extra charge. If you want to rent the clothing, please be at least 20 min before pick up time to get dressed.

It’s better to be dressed overly warm than “underdressed”, especially on longer safari programs. In cold weather, we recommend applying no-water based winter cream for face and cover open skin areas tightly. Bring gloves or better mittens, a good hat, hand/foot warmers and goggles.

Please take off your gloves/mittens when touching the huskies. They love to play with gloves and might break it easily. Do not be afraid of dogs, as they are genetically friendly to people. Do not feed the dogs.
