Northern Lights Guarantee Tour — Unlimited Distance Aurora Chase, Levi — No Distance Cap, No Fixed End Time, 70% Refund if No Aurora

This is the most committed Northern Lights tour we offer — for guests who want to know that every possible effort has been made.

Why This Is the Most Committed Aurora Chase Available from Levi

  • No distance cap — if clear sky is 300 km away, we drive 300 km
  • No fixed end time — the tour runs until the night has been properly exhausted
  • 70% refund if no aurora is seen at all — same guarantee as the standard tour, with more effort behind it
  • Real-time weather and forecast monitoring throughout — the route is decided on the night and adjusted continuously
  • Warm winter clothing included — nothing to arrange separately
  • Professional camera throughout — aurora photos delivered by download link the next day

No Distance Cap. No Fixed End Time.

The standard guarantee tour covers up to 200 km. This one has no limit. If clear sky is 300 km away, we drive 300 km. If the right conditions appear at midnight, we are still out there. The tour ends when the night has been properly exhausted — not when a kilometre counter or a clock runs out.

Like the standard guarantee tour, a 70% refund applies if no aurora is seen at all. The difference is the level of effort behind that guarantee. More distance, more time, more flexibility to follow conditions wherever they lead.

The Guarantee — 70% Refund if No Aurora Is Seen

If the northern lights are not seen at all during the tour, 70% of the price is refunded. A sighting is considered successful if the aurora is visible to the naked eye, through the professional camera, or through a smartphone in night mode. Even a faint visible aurora counts. This is in line with standard international aurora tour practice.

Full terms are set out in the Acknowledgement & Acceptance of Tour Conditions document, available on request and at booking

Reading the Sky — How Local Arctic Weather Knowledge Finds the Northern Lights

Cloudy skies do not automatically rule out a sighting. Cloud layers vary in thickness and wind can shift the cover quickly. On many evenings that look overcast from the village, gaps open up in the right direction. The driver has seen enough Lapland nights to read the sky, not just the forecast. With no distance or time limit, there is more room to follow those gaps wherever they lead.

Photography — Professional Camera, Tripod and Next-Day Delivery

The driver carries a professional camera and tripod throughout the tour. When the aurora appears, they photograph you with the lights as a backdrop. Images are processed overnight and delivered via download link the following day. Guests are welcome to bring and use their own equipment; tripods and phone holders are available to borrow.

How the Tour Works — Flexible Departure, Open-Ended Return

  • Departure time confirmed no later than 16:00 on the day, based on conditions
  • Tour can start between 16:00 and 21:00 — guests must be flexible and ready within this window
  • Return time is open-ended — the tour runs as long as conditions require
  • Guests should be well-rested and prepared for a potentially long night
  • Stopovers involve standing outside in Arctic conditions for extended periods
  • The tour may cross uneven or snowy terrain on foot
  • If conditions make a sighting genuinely impossible before departure, the tour is cancelled with a full refund

Who This Is For

  • Guests who have already done a standard aurora tour and not seen the lights
  • Guests on a short trip who cannot afford to wait for a better night
  • Those for whom seeing the aurora is the single most important thing about the visit
  • Aurora photographers who want maximum time in the field with professional camera support

      Please note

        F.A.Q.

        • How is this different from the standard Northern Lights Guarantee Tour?

The standard guarantee tour covers up to 200 km and runs for 4–6 hours. This tour has no distance cap and no fixed end time — the driver will go as far and stay out as long as conditions require. The 70% refund guarantee is the same; the level of effort behind it is greater.

        • What exactly is the 70% refund guarantee?

If no aurora is seen at all during the tour, 70% of the tour price is refunded. A sighting counts as successful if the aurora is visible to the naked eye, through the professional camera, or through a smartphone in night mode — even faint. Full terms are in the Acknowledgement & Acceptance of Tour Conditions document.

        • How long should I expect the tour to last?

At minimum 4–6 hours, but the return time is open-ended. If conditions require driving further and staying out longer, the tour will do exactly that. Guests should be prepared for a potentially long night and well-rested before departure.

        • When will I know the departure time?

Departure is confirmed no later than 16:00 on the day, based on weather and forecast conditions. The tour can start between 16:00 and 21:00. Full flexibility is required.

        • Is this tour suitable for children or elderly guests?

This tour is not recommended for families with small children, seniors with limited mobility, pregnant guests or guests with relevant medical conditions. Stopovers involve extended periods standing outside in Arctic cold, and the tour may involve walking on uneven or snowy terrain. The open-ended duration makes it particularly unsuitable for young children.

        • What is the difference between this tour and the Northern Lights Hunt by Car?

The Hunt by Car covers up to 50 km and runs for 2 hours — a relaxed evening suitable for all ages. This tour has no distance cap, no fixed end time, includes warm winter clothing, and carries the 70% refund guarantee. It is a serious, demanding chase designed for guests who want maximum effort.

        Important remarks:

The 70% refund guarantee: Applies if no aurora is seen at all. Any sighting — however faint, whether seen with the naked eye or through a camera — counts as a successful tour.
