Easy snowshoeing with a hot drink, Levi

2 hours

Easy

A great way to experience Lapland’s wintry wildernesses and really get in touch with its finest asset, enjoy the fresh and clean air and get some exercise

Getting Started – Snowshoes On, Adventure Begins.

Your experience begins in Levi village centre, where your local guide will greet you and help you gear up with snowshoes and necessary equipment. After a quick fitting (snowshoes adjusted to your foot size and worn over your own winter boots), the group will walk approximately 500 meters to the starting point near the base of Levi Fell.

At the trailhead, you’ll strap on your snowshoes and begin a 2–4 km loop hike through Levi’s surrounding winter landscape. The exact route depends on snow conditions and group fitness, ensuring a comfortable pace for everyone.

Snowy Forests, Frozen Lakes & Arctic Wildlife.

The trail winds through snow-covered woods, across small frozen lakes, and along the quiet edges of Levi Fell. The only sounds are the soft crunch of snow beneath your feet and the whisper of the winter wind. Along the way, you may spot tracks or glimpses of Arctic wildlife — including hares in their white winter coats, willow grouse, or even a fox.

Your guide will share insights about the nature of Lapland, how animals survive in the Arctic, and how local people live in tune with the seasons.

Hot Drink in the Wild.

When it’s time for a break, we’ll stop at a quiet spot in the forest to enjoy a traditional hot Finnish berry juice, served steaming warm in the fresh Arctic air. As you rest, your guide will share stories about the Lappish way of life and answer your questions about the surrounding wilderness.

Return with a New Perspective.

Once re-energized, you’ll complete the loop back toward Levi.
