Evening departure of a snowmobile safari will be a special experience to discover the magic of snowy forests in the night

When the sun sets, the blue darkness of the Arctic night takes over - and it’s time to begin your evening snowmobile adventure in Levi. Engines roar to life as we head into the silent wilderness, speeding across snowy fields and frozen wetlands under the vast open sky.

Whether it’s the glowing moon, a clear starry night, or softly falling snow, every ride brings its own magic. And with the open landscape above, the northern sky often creates a truly unforgettable atmosphere.

A unique feature of this tour is that a substantial part of the route runs through privately owned land, ensuring a fully private and uninterrupted experience. These exclusive trails are reserved for our groups only - no other snowmobiles or vehicles are allowed, giving you a true sense of Arctic isolation and serenity.

Midway through the snowmobile safari, we’ll stop at a private wilderness hut (kota), set on a vast frozen swamp. The location offers 360-degree unobstructed sky views, especially toward the northern horizon. Far from roads, artificial lights, and crowds, this secluded site is completely free of light pollution - the perfect setting for enjoying the northern sky and the peaceful surroundings of Lapland’s wilderness.

And best of all, thanks to its position on private land, this stopover guarantees a truly exclusive experience - a rare luxury on popular Lapland evening safaris.

Inside the hut, you’ll warm up by the open fire, grill a sausage, and enjoy a heart-warming hot drink while taking in the beauty of the Arctic night.

The tour starts with a pickup from Levi and transfer to our safari house. There, you’ll gear up with thermal equipment: a snowmobile suit, boots, mittens, helmet, balaclava, and woolen socks - all designed to keep you warm and dry.

Your guide will provide a safety briefing and driving instructions - and then you’re ready to hit the trail.

        What to bring
          • Please take your driving license with you on the snowmobile safari as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari.
          • We recommend wearing thermal base layers and warm multi-layer clothing under the provided snowmobile gear. Two pairs of socks are recommended, with thick wool socks worn on top, along with a neck scarf to protect against cold and wind during the ride. In very cold temperatures (below -20 °C), a neoprene face mask or similar face protection may improve comfort.
          • For those people who consider self-rental: out there you’ll be surrounded by almost total whiteness, so it’s quite easy to lose one’s way for the first time, that’s why to guarantee the quality time, we highly recommend for the first time to go on an organized safari with an experienced local guide.
